The Proactive Services team provides support to all sectors and industries in preventive cybersecurity services aimed at preparing organizations against cyber threat. This team provides strategic and technical consulting services, leveraging battle tested processes and procedures that have been refined through decades of protecting government and private sector organizations against adverse cyber actions. Proactive Services provides multidimensional services toward risk reduction including assessment, testing, preparation, detection, and advice on remediation. These services may be offered against proprietary BlueVoyant frameworks or against industry specific frameworks including, but not limited to, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800-171 and CMMC.  

Senior Cybersecurity Consultant Role

The Proactive Services team is looking for an experienced, team-oriented, and highly motivated Senior Cybersecurity Consultant to lead consulting engagements. This position involves working closely with clients to identify cybersecurity gaps and risk within their existing and future programs, developing and reviewing client cybersecurity policies and plans, and developing organizational cybersecurity roadmaps for compliance and best practices.

This position will require the candidate to travel onsite 30-40%, once safe to do so. Successful candidates will have a background in cybersecurity (preferably operational) as well as experience assessing, in a consulting capacity, current implemented controls and the associated risk posed to commercial clients.

Position Requirements:

●    Proactively leading communications with client to ensure engagement milestones are met and client feels satisfied with progress being made
●    Providing well-considered solutions to companies seeking improvements in their cyber security posture
●    Thoughtfully researching solutions to new client questions when unique concerns are presented and proactively leading team discussions on possible courses of action
●    Developing documentation including policies, procedures, and plans
●    Orchestrating discovery, interviews and structured data collection meetings
●    Continued interest in learning about innovations in cybersecurity
●    Creatively and collegially participating in team process improvement and training
●    Continuous professional development, seeking and maintaining certifications  
●    Effectively managing consulting workload
●    Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance requirements in the private and public sectors
●    Participating in the scoping and development of client proposals

 Qualifications/Preferences

●    3-5 years of experience performing cybersecurity assessments
●    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, information assurance or other related fields
●    Experience with government contracts and/or compliance management consulting experience a plus
●    Technical or professional certifications related to cybersecurity management, information technology, or various cybersecurity disciplines (CISSP, CCNA, GREM, OSCP, etc.)
●    Experience and passion for leading technical teams
●    Strong technical communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to convey technical concepts and complex security issues
●    Proven experience briefing senior client leadership at various levels
●    Enthusiastic but thoughtful initiative on projects and ideas
●    Creative problem solver
